FWD Drivamatics – Usage-Based Insurance Landing Page

  • Categories:Branding, UI/UX

Overview

This project involved the design and development of a landing page for FWD Drivamatics, a usage-based insurance product that rewards safe driving behaviour.

The objective was to clearly communicate a relatively complex insurance concept in a simple and engaging way, while encouraging users to download the app and begin the onboarding process.

The landing page was designed to support both product understanding and conversion, across desktop and mobile devices.

Role

I was responsible for:

  • UX and UI design
  • Information architecture and page structure
  • Visual direction aligned with FWD brand guidelines
  • Front-end implementation
  • Responsive optimisation across devices

This allowed me to ensure consistency between the design intent and the final implemented experience.

Challenge

Usage-based insurance is not immediately intuitive for first-time users.

The key challenge was to translate a data-driven insurance model into a clear and accessible digital experience that could quickly answer:

  • What is Drivamatics?
  • How does it work?
  • Why should I use it?

At the same time, the experience needed to build trust and encourage users to proceed to app download.

Design Approach

  • Simplified Product Storytelling

The page was structured to break down the product into a clear narrative flow, guiding users from awareness to understanding to action.
Instead of presenting technical insurance details upfront, the content was translated into user-friendly messaging focused on benefits and outcomes.

  • Conversion-Oriented Layout

The landing page was designed around a clear conversion path:

      1. Product introduction
      2. Explanation of how it works
      3. Key benefits and rewards
      4. Strong call-to-action to download the app

This structure was optimised to reduce friction and support quick decision-making.

  • Information Hierarchy

A strong visual hierarchy was used to prioritise key messages and guide attention through the page.
Typography, spacing, and section structuring were carefully designed to ensure clarity, especially when explaining more complex product mechanics.

  • Brand-Consistent Visual Design

The interface was designed in alignment with FWD’s brand identity, ensuring consistency in tone, colour, and digital expression while maintaining a modern and engaging feel.

Solution

The final landing page delivers a clear and structured product experience that simplifies a complex insurance concept into an intuitive user journey.

By combining strong UX structure, clear messaging, and conversion-focused design, the experience helps users quickly understand the value of Drivamatics and take action to download the app.

Key Takeaway

This project demonstrates my ability to translate complex, data-driven products into simple and engaging digital experiences.

It highlights skills in UX structuring, conversion-focused design, and front-end implementation within a branded product ecosystem.
