A logo animation for 9GAG, a global entertainment platform whose community shares funny images, GIFs, memes, and videos — designed to reflect the brand's playful, chaotic, highly visual character and express the idea of "endless fun content" for social media.

Owned the project from idea through the finished animation — concept development, motion design, and full animation production.
Challenge
Translate 9GAG's chaotic, fast-paced, meme-driven identity into a logo animation — balancing expressive, high-energy visual noise with the need to land on a clear, recognisable brand mark.
Designing at Scale
Expressive layer (chaos / content) — Used multi-coloured transitions, rapid visual changes reflecting meme culture and digital overload, and energetic motion suggesting scrolling and content flow
Structural layer (brand identity) — Gradually condensed the motion into a clear "9," shifting from fluid visuals to a stable symbol to establish brand clarity within visual noise
3D brand anchor — Culminated the animation in a 3D "9" symbol as a recognisable brand anchor, reinforcing brand recognition while maintaining the playful tone
Outcome
The animation presents 9GAG as a platform built on endless, fast-moving, diverse content — translating "unlimited funny content" into motion through colour, rhythm, and transformation.
